Online Quran Classes in Australia

Learn Quran Global teaches Australian families through live one-to-one classes. Students in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra study with us, along with families in the south-western Sydney suburbs and Melbourne's northern corridor where Muslim communities are most concentrated. Every lesson is private, held on Zoom or Google Meet, and scheduled around the Australian school day.

Time-zone friendly scheduling

Australia spans three standard time zones and only some states observe daylight saving, which makes scheduling here more involved than almost anywhere else we teach. Our teachers are based in Pakistan (UTC+5, no daylight saving) and classes run 24 hours a day, so every Australian zone is covered.

Worked examples: a 4:00pm class in Sydney or Melbourne is 11:00am in Pakistan during the winter months, and 1:00pm when daylight saving is in effect. In Perth, a 5:00pm class is 2:00pm in Pakistan year-round. In Adelaide, a 4:30pm class is 12:00pm in Pakistan. Brisbane does not observe daylight saving, so a 4:00pm class there stays at 11:00am in Pakistan all year.

New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, the ACT, and Tasmania move their clocks; Queensland, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory do not. Pakistan never does. Your teacher tracks whichever applies to you, so your slot stays at the same local time throughout the year.

School finishes mid-afternoon across Australia — around 3:00pm in New South Wales and 3:30pm in Victoria — so late-afternoon and early-evening classes are the most common arrangement, with weekend sessions for families who prefer a longer weekly lesson.

Quran classes for kids

Children can start from around age four. Quran and Islamic studies are not part of the mainstream Australian school curriculum, so most families supplement through a weekend Islamic school, a mosque programme, or private tuition. A weekly one-to-one class works well alongside any of these — it gives the individual recitation correction a group setting cannot.

Students learn Quran reading through Noorani Qaida, then Tajweed, with memorisation of short Surahs alongside. Teachers are fluent in English, which matters for children who speak English at school and at home and may not follow instruction in Arabic or Urdu. Parents receive progress updates directly from the teacher.

The Australian school year runs in four terms from late January to mid-December, with the long break over December and January. Many families use that summer break for more frequent lessons, then return to a lighter weekly schedule once term resumes.

Frequently asked questions

Which Australian time zones do you cover?

All of them. Classes run 24 hours a day, so Australian Eastern, Central, and Western time are all covered, including states that observe daylight saving and those that do not.

What is the time difference between Australia and Pakistan?

Pakistan is UTC+5 with no daylight saving. Sydney is 5 hours ahead in winter and 6 hours ahead during daylight saving; Perth is 3 hours ahead year-round; Brisbane stays 5 hours ahead all year. A 4:00pm class in Sydney is 11:00am in Pakistan during winter.

Does my class time change when daylight saving starts?

No. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, the ACT, and Tasmania change their clocks; Queensland, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory do not; and Pakistan never does. Your teacher adjusts at our end so your class stays at the same local time for you.

How do Australian families pay?

Fees are charged in US dollars and converted by your bank or card. Credit card, debit card, PayPal, Stripe, and bank transfer are all accepted. The trial class is free with no card details required.

Can classes fit around the school day and school terms?

Yes. School finishes mid-afternoon in most states, so late-afternoon and early-evening slots are the most common. Many families increase frequency over the December-January summer break and reduce it once term resumes.

Are female Quran teachers available?

Yes, for women, girls, and younger children. Request this when booking your free trial.
